£30,000–£36,000 + First‑Time‑Fix Bonus | Permanent | 40 hrs
Company Vehicle, Fuel Card, 25 Days Holiday (+BH), Pension, Life Assurance, Healthcare, Full Product Training

The Opportunity
We’re supporting a market leader in intelligent parking solutions as they expand their Field Service Engineer team across the UK!
This role is ideal for a hands‑on, self‑motivated, multi‑skilled engineer with experience working on electromechanical, low‑voltage, or security/automation systems. The company designs and manufactures their own parking technology in the UK, including:

  • Ticket kiosks and payment terminals
  • Barrier and access control systems
  • ANPR/CCTV camera technology
  • Embedded PCs, printers, touchscreens, and industrial switches

Full product training is provided, making this a strong step for engineers from CCTV, alarms, ticketing, vending, or car park equipment backgrounds who want to develop in a specialist, future‑focused industry.

The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will:

  • Carry out repairs, servicing, and preventative maintenance on parking and access control systems
  • Work on a range of hardware including cameras, kiosks, barriers, PCs, printers, touchscreens, and Moxa switches
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and software‑related faults
  • Install, terminate, and test cabling
  • Work safely around power supplies and low‑voltage systems
  • Support installation and upgrade projects when required
  • Manage your own workload independently across Essex
  • Deliver a professional, customer‑focused service at all times

Field Service Engineer Experience Required
You must have experience in a field‑based service or maintenance role involving hands‑on work with electromechanical or low‑voltage systems, ideally including:

  • CCTV or ANPR systems
  • Alarm or security systems
  • Ticketing or vending machines
  • Car park equipment (barriers, pay stations, access control)
  • Intercom or access systems
  • PC‑based or software‑driven hardware
  • Cabling, terminating, and basic electrical work

Note: Pure IT/networking or ATM‑only backgrounds are not the right fit for this role.

Field Service Engineer Skills & Competencies

  • Confident working with hardware, cabling, and low‑voltage electrical systems
  • Ability to diagnose faults across electrical, mechanical, and software components
  • Comfortable working around power supplies
  • Able to read wiring diagrams and technical documentation
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Self‑motivated and comfortable working independently
  • Full UK driving licence

Field Service Engineer Desirable Qualifications

  • ECS card, 18th Edition, PAT testing, or similar electrical qualification
  • Networking fundamentals (CompTIA, Cisco, HND etc.)
  • Experience with industrial switches (e.g., Moxa)

If you’re a hands‑on Field Service Engineer with experience in CCTV, alarms, ticketing, vending, or car park systems and want to join a growing UK manufacturer, apply with your latest CV and I’ll be in touch to discuss the next steps.
